The Fast and The Spurious Marketing Mentality

Opinions, ideas, suggestions and bad advice abound all over the internet.

The mentality of the fast and the spurious tends to buy into all of the hype and misleading information frequently being published online.

Because of the desire to "get rich quick", individuals with this mentality very rarely will take the time to investigate whether or not the information they are getting is accurate or not.

To make matters worse they believe that marketing is something that you simply pour out of a box and just add water.

It's important to recognize that many of the biggest names in the business of internet marketing didn't become millionaires over night.

For some there were many years of blood, sweat and tears, sleepless nights and ruined relationships because of their determination to keep at it.

I once heard motivational speaker Les Brown say: "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."
Before you jump with both feet into the highly competitive world of internet marketing, do some research first.

Educate yourself on basic marketing and business principles, because this will help you to get started from a more stable foundation.

Avoid trying to rush through the learning curve. Typically what happens when you do that is, you end up having to go back over and over again to repair what you didn't do right from the beginning which in the end, eats up more time than if you would've set up your foundation on the right soil the first time.

If you've ever noticed the speed at which a skyscraper is constructed, you'll notice that the foundation itself seems like it takes forever to appear.

But once the foundation is laid, the rest of the building starts to materialize almost immediately.

A similar approach to building a successful business on the internet can help you to avoid the marketing mentality of the fast and the spurious.

The bottom is, marketing whether it be online or in a brick and mortar establishment in your neighborhood is still marketing. There are no shortcuts to success. You will have to put some time and energy into identifying a profitable market and then identifying the needs within that market.

If you start the business building process with the right mindset, you will inevitably create a rock solid profit source for yourself and once you learn how to do it in one market, you can do it faster in additional markets down the road.
