How To Avoid Online Frauds

What Is A Scam?

Unrealistic headlines such as "How To Make A Million Dollars Fast", "How To Make Six Figures In A Week" are all potential candidates for online scams. However, there are some exceptions, but that will require you to do some research on the product and owner of the product.

Offers that have no owner, or an owner with a fake name are candidates for scams.

Sales letters that don't tell you what you're buying are probably not legit.

Anything that seems too good to be true and is lacking credibility, is probably something you want to stay away from.

Do Your Research

Unless you're buying a product from a trusted company or person, make sure you research the product and the owners. Some people go online and sell crappy products, but they won't put their names behind it because they know that the product is crappy.

Some companies will make tons of promises, but the minute you hit the process order button, you will lose your money and you will have no way of getting it back. Don't make a purchase unless you trust the company or owner, or you will end up throwing your money down the drain.

Make sure you know exactly what you're getting and find some honest reviews on the product. You can find reviews of most products online, if not you better be careful.

If possible ask an experienced marketer to review the product or check it out for you. If you really want to buy a product but you don't know much about it, ask around and see if anybody you know has any experience with the product.

Better Safe Than Sorry

Use a credit card just in case you need to dispute a charge. Don't use your debit card unless your bank allows you to dispute charges.

Never give out your credit card and address unless you have researched the company and you're 100% sure that it will be a safe transaction. Some companies will take your personal information and sell it to others.

The higher the price the more important it is to do research. Nobody wants to spend $500 for a mediocre product with no money-back guarantee, but spending $10 on a below-average product won't leave a big dent in your wallet. I recommend you do your research on most products, but you don't need to spend a week researching a product that will only cost you $10.

Final Tips To Avoid Scams

Don't even open emails that you're not familiar with.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If somebody tells you that their product will turn you into a millionaire overnight, run away from that guy as fast as you can.

Don't get into the habit of buying product after product. Buying product after product, is a waste of money, and it is a quick way to end up buying into a scam.

Get a mentor and only buy his/her products to be safe and stay focused. If you have a mentor, I recommend you only buy their products or the products he/she recommends so you don't lose focus, and chase shiny objects.
