The importance of systems in Internet marketing should never be
under estimated.Every day I speak to Internet marketers who are
struggling to earn more money online, because they don't understand the
importance of systems in Internet marketing. In some cases they have not
made any money and in others, they have made their first online income;
but they don't really understand how they got that money.
To earn more money online is quite simple. You need to have in place systems; this often works as a system within a system. Online business is like a huge jigsaw puzzle there are a huge number of pieces but once they all fit together and are not in conflict with each other.
They are like the cogs in the wheel, they turn perfectly without any jarring. Let's not complicated systems! Systems are only processes, I say only; but they are fundamental to the success of any business. Large companies which are efficient always have systems in place. Unfortunately, many Internet marketers do not come from a business background and they do not understand the crucial relevance of systems.
A system is quite simply a process and the process is a steps so to make it's super simple, a system is merely a series of steps. If you're not understanding this, look at the video below which explains quite clearly a personal system.
To get the system working correctly, you need to define the processes that you should be taking in any given task. Once the processes are broken down they can be put in a definitive order and each time you do that task you use your system.
As you can see breaking your business down into systems is not without work! However, once the processes have been broken down the actual tweaking of these processes become so much easier.
Obviously it is possible to have systems that fail, they don't work as efficiently as they should, or are not consistent.
For instance, you may want to start a new blog about weight loss. Weight loss as a whole is the generic niche; but you need to break it down into your area of specialization. So you decide to concentrate on abs.
Your new blog is going to be about defining abs. You do some quickly keyword research quick keyword research, and then you outsource 20 articles.
Once you've got your articles, you are dying to start your new blog. You have the hosting already so that is not a problem but wait a minute, you don't have a domain name.
So off you pop to Namecheap to register your domain name. You look in vain, and lo and behold there are no available domains which contain your keyword. So there you are with 20 articles and nowhere to go!
Imagine how much easier and more smooth that process would have been, if you had broken the steps necessary to create a blog into processes, which emphasize the importance of systems in Internet marketing
1. Spend 10 minutes on keyword research.
2. Check to see whether you can register a domain which contains those keywords.
3. Buy the domain.
4. Change the DNS settings, so it is ready when you are.
5. Set up the hosting.
6. Write articles or outsource them.
7. Review the articles and check your keyword density and relevance to your chosen topic.
8. Purchase images.
9. Install WordPress WordPress, install the plugins, change the theme of necessary
10. Put the articles on the blog and add the images
11. Publish the blog immediately in total or schedule it to drip feed the content at a specified time.
Within that system you may want to break down the processes into subsections. This is especially useful if you are outsourcing work. Every single process within every single system should be documented. There are two reasons for this, it provides a checklist which underpins the importance of systems in Internet marketing and also provides checklists for when you get the work back.
It is also more likely that your articles or work that you outsource will be more relevant. The outsourcer has very clear instructions to work from. This eliminates one area where errors can be made, as a result of a lack of communication. Clear communication can be vital, especially if you outsource to a country where English is not the first language.
Because you may find it difficult to break down systems in Internet marketing to processes I shall be writing the processes for a different system each day. Tomorrow we will begin by breaking down the processes to building a highly converting Facebook ad campaign. Look forward to seeing you then.
