5 Key Factors Of A Successful Marketing Strategy

Whether you have a traditional business run from a shop or an office, or have an online business where you buy and sell products and services, it is imperative you have an internet marketing presence as failure to do so can result in the failure of your business.

The 5 main key factors in any successful internet marketing strategy are:

1. Know your market or customers

You need to have a clear vision of who will buy your products and services, create a profile, and sell to that profile. Know who they are, what they like, where they work, if they have a family or not and so on. Picture that person and create your advertising campaign around them.

2. Know you competition

Find out who are selling or advertising similar products and services, look at their strategies and advertising techniques. Ask friends and family for their opinions and if negative, ask what would make a difference, then create similar or completely different ideas to sell to your profiled customer.

3. Trial your strategies

Create several strategies in different formats including email, social media, YouTube, Amazon and other market places. Watch the results and compare against each other, taking the successful parts of each one and reproduce it. Make sure you collect statistics from each one which demonstrates clicks, views, purchases and your return on investment if you have used paid advertising.

4. Continually monitor an update your marketing strategy

Look at trends and new applications or technology. If you are using something that went out of date or there is a newer version, make sure you install any software updates. Also, if a certain campaign or strategy is not returning any positive results, have the confidence to stop or withdraw it. Read articles and publications on the topic and become an expert. Provide hints, tips and advice on your topic as well as bonuses, free gifts and offers. Make your product too good to be true but also be responsive and make changes to reflect changes in the market.

5. Find what works and duplicate it

When you find something that works, do it over and over again until it stops working. Scale it and return multiple streams of income however, do not be complacent and continue to check it is working. If it fails and you do not realise this, it can be disastrous.
