When you started your blog, what was your goal? I know my goal was to be read, and looked upon as an expert in my field. This success takes time, and if your blog sucks, it takes even longer! Blogging used to be easy. Pick a topic, pick a blogging platform and start writing and it seemed like people showed up. So why today does it seem like every blog sucks. I will tell you the answer today, and hopefully give you some simple strategies to make your website stand out, and be noticed!
Blogging isn't what it used to be. Everyone is writing about the same things. Creating a website about how to make money online is like throwing a pebble into a glass filled with pebbles. It will just blend right in with everyone else and this is what I mean by your blog sucks. To make it suck less I recommend the following few ideas.
Don't use software to publish your posts. I have tried some of these software programs just to see how they do and I have yet to be impressed by one. What I do recommend is writing articles for other sites and making sure they are always original. Borrowing content for your article is OK, as long as you make it your own. Everything that you think up that will help people comes from you alone. Being creative and showing people resourceful ways to get noticed, or market themselves is a great talent!
When you research a topic, get off the computer! Go to a library, or a book store. Find your information from a new source that people don't use anymore. Dr Google puts the same garbage on page one no matter what you search in your niche. Go down to the library and look up some old school ways to attract people. It doesn't matter what your are blogging about, what matters is that your blog stands out!
Keep true to yourself. I believe in honesty at all costs, if I type it, I believe it and would challenge anyone to question me. I will accept all challenges. It doesn't mean I am always right, or I am always perfect, but I stand behind my work, and my words.
The last thing I urge you to do if you want your blog to become popular, is write often. It is not a mystery that Dr. Google likes fresh content, and if you have your SEO set up right, every time you post your sitemap will update. This frequent updating of fresh and relevant content makes Googlebot happy and he will visit you often, increasing your page rankings quickly!
These tips are simple and not new, but your blog sucks and you need to grab a hold of them NOW so that your blog will become among those in the top ten of your niche!
