Did you know that it's quite possible to set up a highly profitable business online selling short, easy to produce reports that do not need to be any longer than 7-15 pages in length.
What you are looking to do is create a small report on a specific topic (e.g. How to use Solo ads to build your own email list) which you will then sell online. Overtime you will look to create more small reports and the by using a combination of these reports you can create bigger, more expensive products.
The main benefit to this approach is that it does not require a huge investment on your part and also it does not require too much of your valuable time as all you need to do is create a short 7-15 page report.
There are basically 4 steps involved in this process and they are outlined below -
1. Select a market.
2. How to find a good idea for your small report.
3. How to create your small report.
4. How to repeat your success.
In this article we are going to look at the first step and that is 'Selecting A Market." Here you will try and locate a group of people who you can sell your small report to. In other words you need to find a target audience.
Below you will find a list of some popular markets that you could center your small report business around -
• Weight loss
• Home business
• Relationships
• Parenting
• Retirement
• Personal Growth
• Wedding and Marriage
• Network Marketing
• Wealth
• Investing
• Computers and Technology
• Motivational
• Leadership
• Hobby Markets
• Sports
• Business
• Dating
• Marketing
There are of course many more markets available for you to target, but hopefully you get the idea.
The idea is that you will select a market and then base your small report business around this. Overtime you will create a number of small reports which will all be based around your chosen market.
Over the past few years niche marketing has been very popular and many people have jumped on this band wagon - indeed people are still trying to find new untapped niches to build a business around, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find undiscovered profitable niches.
Now niche marketing can be very profitable, but I believe that there is another even better way to way to set up your business that could produce even more profitable results. Rather than trying to find a specific niche it may be better to try and identify TARGET markets.
This particular approach is almost identical to that of niche marketing, but there is one additional step which can lead to more profits in the long term. I have outlined the process below -
1. Identify your market of hungry customers.
2. Create a product that your customers need and want.
3. Setup a web site to sell the product.
4. Drive traffic to your site.
5. Create or find additional related products to sell to your existing customers.
6. Find more market and repeat the process.
Now there is an extra step included above, that is very important. The step I am talking about is no.5 Create or find additional related products to sell to your existing customers.
You see once a customer has purchased a product from you, he or she has demonstrated that they trust you and they are interested enough in your product to actually spend some money. So now all you need to do is find and offer them similar related products. The reason for this is that they have already shown that they are willing to purchase such products and are likely to do so again.
So rather than trying to find a specific niche market to target, try and find a larger market and then create a number of related small reports on specific topics within that particular market. What you want ideally is for your customers to make repeat purchases from you.
